Courtyard meeting: At the courtyard meeting held on November 23, 2022. aksail, Kalatia union under Keraniganj Upazila, Ms. Rasheda Begum (House wife) said that My daughter got married 2 years ago. The girl is 8 months pregnant, Rangpur is her father-in-law's house, my daughter's husband used to return home angry and used to quarrel with her physically and mentally. They used to live in a rented house in Keraniganj Atibazar Union area and my daughter was beaten by her husband and thrown out of the house. We have sat with family and society many times to resolve the matter but they did not settle and married their son elsewhere and sent the daughter for divorce. I am seeking legal services through Legal Aid office Dhaka as we are very poor and cannot afford to litigate.
UPLAC Bi-monthly meeting: The UPLAC bi-monthly meeting was held on November 22, 2022 Mr. Md. Musleuddin Masum Chairmen, Bhararia Union under Dhamrai Upazila and Chairman of Union Parishad Legal Aid Committee said that every week 3/5 cases come in our Union Parishad, out of which we settle some disputes and some we cannot settle. Refer cases that we cannot settle to the District Legal Aid office Dhaka and arrange for client payments.
